Massage for Special Needs and Premature Babies

Babies who are born prematurely or who have additional needs can often be touch averse, particularly if they have spent a long time in hospital. I have worked with families who have children with special needs for over 7 years, so I have some understanding of the impact this can have on a family. Massage is a lovely way for you to spend precious time together, which you may not have had the opportunity for so far.

Massage can be adapted for any additional health need, and is suitable for children of all ages. It provides lots of lovely health benefits for both of you, which can be found on my homepage. As well as those mentioned, massage can help with a lot of those needs too, such as increasing circulation for those with cardiac issues, or aiding digestion in a natural way for babies with digestive problems.

For premature babies, massage can help to gently introduce them to positive touch and will help with their development. They are likely to have received a lot of stimulation from different environments, so it is important for you both to be in a calm and relaxed environment to help strengthen the bond between you.

Everyone is welcome to attend my classes, and I am happy to discuss this with you and make any adaptations if needed. However, if you feel that you would rather receive one to one classes then I am more than willing to provide them. These can also be a lovely way to spend time as a family. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions.

My little boy has Downs Syndrome and has struggled with health conditions such as constipation, after our sessions he was always more relaxed and slept amazingly!

Covid Update

Hi everyone,

Due to the recent changes in government guidelines, I want to reassure everyone that my baby classes are still going ahead as we have all the measures in place to be COVID safe. This includes a risk assessment, hand sanitiser and hand washing facilities available, no cross over between classes and time in between to clean, temperature checks on arrival, online booking and payment system to reduce contact, limit of 5 participants per class to adhere to social distancing guidelines, no need for paperwork or other equipment to be shared. All participants are to bring their own yoga mat or blanket which are placed 2 metres apart.

If you have any further questions please get in touch.

Stay safe,
